Sailors-Skip a PRT cycle!

According to the just released NAVADMIN 141/17, Sailors who are within body

fat standards and score an overall “excellent low” or better will be exempt from the next PRT, as long as no single event is scored lower than “good low.”  This will free up the administrative burden on Command Fitness Leaders as well as thousands of man hours spent on the PRT each cycle for
thousands of Sailors.  Read the entire NAVADMIN because there’s other changes as well, including the elliptical no longer being authorized as an alternate cardio event.  All-in-all, we think it’s a great move by the Navy!

This is pretty big news. I know my husband makes weight and then maxes out on push ups and sit ups and then does a ridiculously slow run. Being able to fully skip every other PRT will at the very least make him get his speed better on the 1.5 mile run.
